Op: Mystic Temple... Sun. Jan.9th
Start 2000 with a "bang" on Sunday, January 9th by joining Mike Force's Operation: Mystic Temple. Here are the details from KingSensei:

Quote:

Special Operations Command
Javier Sanchez the accountant for the MLLF (Moss Land Liberation Front) has decided to defect to the US. He is carrying the Swiss Bank Account Numbers for the MLLF and operational funds of Juan Perez. Juan Perez has signed Senior Sanchez’s death warrant. We have been given permission by the Santa Cruz government to rescue Senior Sanchez.
The government of La Selva feels that the money belongs to them and will be sending a Ranger detachment to retrieve the codes. This will be a three way race to get Senior Sanchez do not let the bank code get into the hands of the MLLF or the La Selva Rangers.

Mission Orders for SFOD-M 2 (Mike Force 2)
1. Link up with Senior Javier Sanchez and/or his case carrying the bank account numbers at the Mystic Temple ruins.
2. Take him and/or the bank account numbers to the Brownie Camp Head Quarters cabin and hold him and/or his case there until 1330 hrs.
3. At 1330 hrs take the codes to LZ November to be picked up by Helo at 1400 hrs.
4. If at all possiable bring Javier Sanchez back alive; he can help us with operations against the MLLF

Intercepted message from the La Selva command center:
The accountant for the MLLF is defecting to the US. Juan Perez wants him taken out. The accountant will be carrying a black box containing a code for the MLLF Swiss Bank account. As you know the MLLF broke in to our national treasury last summer and stole millions in gold, Bear bonds and cash. The Swiss account most likely contains the stolen cash that has been funding Juan Perez’s murderous revolt. If it gets in to the Americans hands it will most likely end up split three ways between the Americans, Moss Land leader El Gato and the Hippie President of Santa Cruz Jesus Rodrigues to fund their actions against us. If this code stays in Juan Perez hands the rebels will continue to make gains against us. Send the Ranger detachment and eliminate any opposition; then bring back he Swiss Bank account numbers.

Ranger Orders:
1. Pick up the case containing the Bank account numbers at the Mystic Temple.
2. Take into custody the MLLF accountant for questioning on MLLF activities.
3. After retrieving the box go to the Brownie Camp Headquarters cabin and wait until 1:30pm.
4. Meet the extraction unit on the hilltop next to Nelson road at 2 pm.

Intercepted message from the Juan Perez:
You must eliminate that mouse of a man and retrieve the bank numbers before our enemies do. Take the box to the hill top next to Nelson road between 1:30 to 2:00pm. I will have the Red Team 4 there to pick up the box. I recommend that you do not arrive early because by doing so may give your position away to enemy patrols. I will try to find the other set of number and change the account. But until then do not give them a chance to ruin our cause! Long live the revolution!

Juan Perez
Fearless Leader

Briefing for this mission starts at 1000 hours (10am)
1851 Nelson Road.
Scotts Valley, Calif. 95066
(internet maps are very good)

Because we will be away from the cars it is advised that you carry everything to sustain you for three hours of play. Extra ammo, water, batterys, gas and food.

I'm just forwarding this letter from the Canadian Firearms Centre. It's posted on the Toronto Sun web site for Dec 11,1999 (http://www.canoe.ca/TorontoSun/editorial.html)

I find it rather disturbing ....

Quote:

I AM writing in response to a story by Rob Lamberti regarding the request by the York Regional Police for stricter rules for pellet guns that look like authentic firearms.

I am pleased to tell you there are now much tougher rules governing the use of any gun, including pellet guns, used in crime and courts are treating these cases very seriously. In fact, in a recent British Columbia case, the province's highest court upheld an eight-year jail term for a man who robbed a gas station using a pellet gun.

When a firearm or an imitation firearm is used during a crime, the offender will automatically receive an additional one-year jail term, and even longer if the person is a repeat offender.

Cases show that these additional sentences are being applied. For example, in Ontario, a man who used a pellet gun to rob a convenience store was sentenced to six months in jail for robbery, and an additional year in jail for using an imitation firearm while committing an offence.

Some low-velocity airguns or pellet guns may not be capable of causing serious bodily injury or death, but if they resemble, with near precision, an actual firearm they may be considered replica firearms, which are now prohibited devices. This means they cannot be sold or given away and they cannot be imported into Canada. People who owned them before they became prohibited on Dec. 1, 1998, may keep them, but strict rules apply. Although there are tougher rules in place, the Department of Justice is open to discussing the pellet gun issue further with national police associations.

Stiffer sentences for pellet guns that look like real firearms when used in a crime is another way the new firearms law is working to improve safety.

AirSoft on the Newstand
As many of you know, this website and the discussion board are only part of what I've been doing to promote the responsible growth of airsoft in North America and around the world. A couple of my latest projects (yes, there are even more!) have reached fruition and you can find them on your local newstand. Airsoft is in two nationally circulated publications: Computer Gaming World magazine (Dec. p.167, etc.) and ZD's Holiday Gift Guide (pp.112-113, etc.). If you flip through the magazines carefully, you'll notice airsoft in several places outside of these articles.

In case you're wondering, the demographics for these publications are: mostly male buyers; average age at 31+: with college/graduate degrees; in professional occupations; with annual incomes averaging above $75,000/yr; who are able and willing to spend lots of $$$ for hobbies.

Stay tuned for details on my other projects!
