The first full weekend camping trip is coming.
WHEN: Friday to Sunday, March 17-19
WHERE: U.S. BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT TERRITORY
26 MILES NORTH OF RENO/SPARKS, NV
VENUE: MILSIM /AIRSOFT GAMES BY DAY, CAMPING BY NIGHT
VELOCITY LIMIT IS 350 FPS
SPECIAL EFFECTS AND EQUIPMENT INCLUDING THE CIMMERIAN HUMVEE
NOTES: No ammenities/facilities whatsoever- we're out in the middle of nowhere. A large, fully stocked supermarket lies just 20 miles from the campsite, however. Please bring large garbage bags, plenty of water and firewood. Bring your own tp/shovel. For a complete list of personal gear, please see the Camping section of our website at www.cimmerians.com. Expect cold night time temperatures, and be prepared for foul weather.
There will be NO airsoft rentals available. Ammunition will be on hand for sale, however. There will be battery chargers for all to use. Otherwise, everyone is expected to be fully self-equipped and self-sufficient as there are no babysitting, catering or handholding services. Crybabies and whiners should stay home with their mommies. Since we are military re-enactment club, be advised: the dress code is militaria AT ALL TIMES. Leave civilian-looking clothes, gear and bright colored items/objects at home. This is a combat bivouac, not a poofter-fest. Feel free to bring your real firearms and lots of ammo as there are plenty of excellent places for target shooting (when we are not doing airsoft, of course).
Gentlemanly behavior required and expected. Minimum age is 18- no exceptions. Take the day off from work/school on Friday, and plan to stay the ENTIRE TIME. Sunday games end around 1500 hours. Please email us with any questions. See you in the desert!

Cimmerians
Seattle, SWAT3, AirSoft Video...
I forgot to mention that while I was in Seattle last week visiting the SWAT3 dev team, I showed them the AirSoft videotape from HQ Studio. The team particularly liked the footage of Cimmerian skirmishes, and are now contemplating starting an airsoft club too!

Quote:Dear Readers,
We will be receiving the Thompson M1 A1's by March 20th and are currently taking prepaid orders for them. For the time being you can reserve an M1 A1 for only $449.00 with battery and charger when paying in advance. The MP5 A4's will be arriving at the same time and can be reserved for a price of $399.00 w/battery and charger. We also have plenty of M4's and MP5 A5's going at $375 and $325 respectively. Unfortunately this price does not include battery and charger, but for an additional $25 you can receive both. The new M3 Super 90 Shotgun is available for $325 while the Spas 12 is available for only $249. All other guns are currently being offered at a $100 discount for another week. Grenade launchers and the appropriate adaptors for the M4 will also be available for the price of $299.00 for both. We have plenty of tracer units ($129), hi cap mags ($59), and even Excel Biodegradable .20gram 3700count ammo in for $25. Just what you need for playing on all fields these days. And don't forget about all those upgrade goodies we sell. The increasingly hard to find Fastec Mecabox for the M16 A2 is available for $349.00. We also have plenty of Marui 1000 motors to replace those dated 560 motors for $75. As always we can perform any upgrade needed within 48 hours unlike any other retailer in the US. Spring upgrades, mecabox installation, dual battery coversions are no match for our tech. Please call us at 770-980-0770 to order or if you have any questions.

Thompsons, etc. from MFI
MFI sent this:
Quote:Just a quick note to let you all know the latest news:
Tokyo Marui MP5 Standard Magazines for the electric airsoft (50bbs) are back in stock.
www.mfiap.com/airsoft/acce/toc.htm#mp5
AK47S also back in stock.
www.mfiap.com/airsoft/main_air.htm
Thompson M1A1 is being manufactured at this time and we expect them to be in the warehouse on or about 04-15-2000. Retail will be $545.00 and unlike other products that we carry in stock 500+ units we will likely limit our inventory of this item to less than 100 units as the WWII market rather small. We are offering a pre-pay and wait to arrive sale price of: $465.00. This price includes an M1A1 with Hop Up, Large “Marui 8.4 volt 1300amp” Battery and US Rated MFI Charger, 1-Standard Magazine (60bbs), bag of 200 bbs, Cleaning Rod, Loading Tool, Protective Foam Box with Cardboard Lid, MFI 45 Day Use / Return Policy and Limited Life Time Warranty.
As we do not have a web page for this product yet here are some of the details:
Metal Parts List:
Upper Receiver
Barrel
Front Site
Magazine
Trigger
Select Fire switches
Magazine Catch Release
Cocking Handle
Moving Parts:
Cocking handle
All levers
Stock, Pistol Grip and Hand Guard are plastic but, like AKs they really look like wood… even up close.
Accessories: Only accessory being made is the Hi-Capacity (190 bb) Magazine. Looks like standard mag on the outside. Contrary to popular belief the M1A1 airsoft or real weapon can not take a Drum Style Magazine that was for the 1928 model. Like many wartime productions in order to get as many weapons made as soon as possible the Thompson M1A1 was simplified to speed up the process and thus less expensive.
Tokyo Marui has stated that depending on the sales of this item and the interest generated it may or may not remain in their regular line up. It may go by the way side like the Spetsnaz or be only produced once every 2-3 years depending on the demand like the AK47s, G3A4, SG-1 and PSG-1. If the demand is great they will likely produce more WWII items but it is strictly a wait and see attitude.
