![]() BioHazard 2 (Tokyo Marui)
by MattNot only am I an air softer, but an avid video gamer as well. So, you can imagine my suprise when Tokyo Marui released a gun based on one of the most excellent action/suspense games out there, Biohazard 2. The Desert Eagle .50AE is one of the character specific weapons in the game which only Leon, the main male character, can use. Not only is it a powerful weapon in the game, but also as a model gun. This gun was run as a limited edition back in Feb, so don't even try to find one, because you won't. As to be expected, quality is top notch. The most noticable is the brushed nickle finish. I don't know how they did it, but it's what I expect for a limited model. Also is how massive the beast is. The grips are thicker than normal, it makes my hands seem that much smaller. The little details are all there. The grips are "personalized" with the name "Leon" and there is a Raccoon police dept. medalion on each side. And as a bonus, Marui even added 2 Biohazard 2 collector's pins. Unbelievable. This is a gun that is not to be used in combat, unless you have a few extras and don't mind being spotted because of a blinding, shiny object in your hand. I've shot it on occasion and it's no slouch. The magazine holds 15 rounds, and about every bit of gas is used. The recoil is the most pronounced of any pistol yet. Accuracy is good, despite the heavy recoil. With practice, anyone can hit what they're aiming at. I only take it out to show it off to my friends and put a few rounds through it for fun. At 22,000 yen, it's a good deal considering the average gas pistol runs 19,500 yen. If you can find one at a reasonable price, by at all means pick it up. But I suspect certain individuals or companies will prey on the collectors and cut out the hobbist for a buck. That's too bad, but we all know how that works. At least I hope I gave you all a chance to see an awesome collectable. Sniper BTW, your site rocks! It's the best airsoft one out there, and I very happy that I can submit reviews that many, many other hobbists and serious 'softers can enjoy. I want to bring to everyone out there what Japan has to offer that many will never see or even hear of. Your work is MUCH appreciated and hasn't gone unnoticed.
